WINNSBORO — The Fairfield Central Lady Griffins softball team had a bumpy ride Tuesday night. The Pelion Panthers mauled them early in the contest taking a 4-0 first inning lead.
The Panthers added a three spot in the second and poured on three runs in the fourth. They iced the game with a four run fifth, the inning in which FCHS scored its lone run of the 15-1 defeat.
Pelion pounded out 17 hits to just three for FCHS. Two errors hurt the Griffins in this one, but they were just overmatched by Pelion.
The Griffins played North Central in home action on Thursday. Results were unavailable at press time for The Herald Independent.
