WINNSBORO — Each year the Winnsboro Women’s Club recognizes a member of the graduating class from Fairfield Central and from Richard Winn Academy. Each scholarship is for $500 and requires the applicant to complete forms that can be obtained from the guidance counselors of the respective high schools.

Last year there were no applicants from Fairfield Central High School for the Carolyn McMaster Lyle’s Woman’s Club Scholarship. Instead they only awarded a scholarship to a Richard Winn student.

This year, the club wants to resume its tradition of awarding two scholarships. Members are encouraging college bound students to find their guidance counselors, get application forms and apply. Forms must be returned to the guidance counselors no later than April 15.

The scholarships will be announced at Richard Winn’s graduation and Fairfield Central’s Class Night. The recipients and their parents will be invited to the June meeting of the Winnsboro Woman’s Club where the presentations will be made.
