FAIRFIELD COUNTY — The Fairfield Central High School Griffins and Lady Griffins took the floor for their final home game on Tuesday night. This was both teams second match up against the Keenan Raiders. The Lady Griffins game began at 6 p.m. and they hoped to redeem themselves after a 55-44 lost to the Raiders earlier in the season.
The Lady Griffins Jada Martin scored first for the game and the Raiders quickly responded with a 3 pointer. The Griffins had a hard time getting the officials to see a foul in their favor and took a few hard hits. By the half the Griffins were down by 6 with the score 13-19. Although the lady Griffins came back from halftime and closed the gap by 3 points they could not get a lead. The Raiders took home the victory with a 34-45 victory.
The Griffins boys started out strong, forcing the Raiders to turn the ball over and scored first. The Raiders were quick to score back and to gain the lead over the Griffins. At the half the Raiders held a four point lead over the Griffins, but by the third quarter the Griffins were down by double digits. The final score was 56-48 with the victory going to the Raiders.
