WINNSBORO — The Lady Griffins continued their stellar play in 2013, defeating the Eau Claire Shamrocks Friday night 49-27. With the win the Lady Griffins are now 15-3 this season. Two Lady Griffins, Christian Thompson and Raven Rivers, reached double figures for FHCS. Both girls scored ten points to tie for the team lead. Jada Martin had a solid game on the glass, recording ten rebounds, including four offensive rebounds. A ball hawk, she also added six steals and two assists in the contest. One area for the Lady Griffins to work on as playoff time approaches is assist to turnover ratio. This game they had eight assists as a team but turned the ball over 15 times. Tenacious defense helped offset the turnovers, though. Christian Thompson added five steals, as did senior Chelsea Seibles. The Lady Griffins next play the Keenan Raiders in Region III action at home on Tuesday, Jan. 29.
