The Family and Community Leaders Club of Winnsboro, Fairfield County, recently presented a collection of handmade mats for the homeless to the Good Samaritan House in Winnsboro.
The mats were hand crafted by the club members from used plastic grocery bags. The bags were collected from friends and family, cut into strips, and crocheted to make the mats. Each mat repurposes hundreds of plastic bags.
The mat can be used as a durable sleeping cushion for a person in need. Pictured from left to right Margaret Sanders Club member as well as project coordinator, Ruth Ameen Club President, and Glenna James with the Good Samaritan House.
