WINNSBORO — Robert Davis, 90, of Winnsboro, died Dec. 11, 2012. The funeral was held Dec. 16, 2012, with Pastor Terry O. Corbin presiding.

Davis served in the U.S. Army during Word War II, was employed by Pope’s Exxon for 54 years and by The Independent Body and Muffler Shop for five years, and served as a deacon at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Robbie McLaughlin of Philadelphia, Pa., and Bertha Ann Davis of Winnsboro; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Davis was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Ellison Ross Davis, two sons, Benjamin Franklin and Lonnie Davis, his sister, Katie Davis and his wife, Janie Cooper Davis, the love of his life. The family would like to thank everyone for all acts of kindness shown during their hours of bereavement.
