WINNSBORO — A worker with Fairfield County Public Works has been charged with fraudulent use of a county issued credit card.

Employee Greg Watkins has been arrested, and as of Friday afternoon, was detained at the Fairfield County Detention Center.

Friday afternoon, Magistrate William Robinson held a bond hearing, setting the bond for Watkins at $15,000 cash security.

However, according to Captian Brad Douglas with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department, the sheriff’s department is still working with Sxixth District Solicitor Doug Barfield’s office in this case, and more charges may apply which could increase the bond amount.

Please check back with the Herald Independent for more on this breaking story within the county.
