Friday night, the Eagles of Richard Winn Academy ran away with the game against Andrew Jackson Academy.

This game was never in doubt as the Eagles bounced back from a lopsided homecoming loss last week against Carolina Academy.

The Eagles scored primarily rushing touchdowns in the contest with the Confederates.

At the end of the first quarter, Richard Winn led 16-0.

By halftime the offense exploded and the Eagle’s lead was extended to 30-8.

RWA tacked on 13 more points in the third quarter, to go up 43-8.

After the clock ran out in the fourth quarter, the 43-8 score held up as the final.

Getting back to the basics in practice this week and working on hard-nosed, physical football paid off for RWA.

The players made coach Kenny Atkerson proud by showing a lot of heart and resiliency during practice this week and by carrying those attributes over into the game.

The win improves Richard Winn’s record to 2-6 on the year.

Coach Atkerson hopes to build upon this win next week in home action at Richard Winn.
