FMS volleyball team comes up short in tri-match

The Fairfield Middle School volleyball team came up short in a tri-match at Mid-Carolina Middle School on Monday.

The Griffins traveled to Prosperity and squared off first against the Mid-Carolina Middle School Rebels. The Rebels won game 25-16 and prevailed in game two by a 25 -20 score.

In the second match for FMS, the Griffins took on the Bulldogs from Newberry Middle School.

In game one, Newberry’s Erica Morales served 18 aces in a row before FMS even scored a point.

The Griffins battled back from the early deficit but lost 25-12. In game two the Bulldogs put the Griffins away 25-9.

Newberry Middle School won match three against Mid-Carolina Middle by scores of 27-25 in game one and 25-18 in game two to take the overall victory in the tri-match.
