The Winnsboro town council held a work session on Monday evening to discuss personal matter, property maintenance codes, and the appointment of two representatives to the joint water authority committee.

The council held interviews for municipal court judge applicants during a closed executive session.

This matter has been one that council has been working towards completing, filling the open position.

The council came out of executive session only to say that a report and the result of the interview process will be given at a later time.

The town, along with the applicants, will have to wait a bit longer for a new judge to be named.

Council then took a look at the International Property Maintenance Code that was on the agenda.

There was a lot of discussion about the code stemming from what will be the plan to enforce the codes and who will cover the cost once the code is in place to remove locations that are in violation.

With so many different types of codes, the council wants to take time to research the best fit for the town and review other codes before moving forward.

The conclusion of the meeting was the appointment of the two representatives to the joint water authority.

Mayor Roger Gaddy and mayor pro tem Jack Wilkes will serve in this capacity.
