The Late Mr. Otis Thomas Johnson and Mrs. Frankie Mae Yarborough Johnson are proud to announce the marriage of their daughter Shamieka Bernice Johnson to Michael Paul Sims on May 12, 2012.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Leonard Simmons Sr. and took place at Ebenezer A.M.E Church at 4 p.m. with the reception following at the Purity Lodge.

The bride’s late grandparents are Mr. Frank and Ms. Elouise Yarborough, and Mr. Ulease and Mrs. Laura Johnson.

Shamieka is a 2010 graduate of Allen University where she majored in English. Currently she works at The Herald Independent in Classified Sales. Shamieka is an Avon Representative and Recruiter, and Co-Founder/CEO of S.B. Johnson Consulting, LLC.

The groom’s parents are Ms. Linda Sue Sims and Mr. Stephen Barefoot. He is the grand son of Miss Peggy Sims and the late Mr. Cleveland Eugene Knotts.

Michael is employed at Performance Fibers in Winnsboro, and Co-Founder of S.B. Johnson Consulting, LLC.

Matron of honor was the sister of the bride and owner of Lisa’s Creations, Mrs. Alisa Rice of Winnsboro. Maid of honors were Ms. Shaquana Butler and Ms. Latrina Johnson, nieces of the bride both of Winnsboro. Lady in Waiting was Ms. Katrina Johnson, niece of the bride, of Winnsboro. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Monica Yarborough, sister-in-law of the bride of Irmo, and Ms. Lashonda Sims of Winnsboro, sister of the groom. Flower girls were Ms. Mckinley Yarborough, niece of the bride of Irmo, and Ms. Deniyah R. Young, niece of the groom of Winnsboro. The Brides Escort was her oldest brother Mr. John Yarborough Sr. of Irmo.

Best Man was Mr. Christopher Todd McClaughlin, cousin of the groom of Winnsboro. Groomsmen were Mr. Bryant Robertson Jr., nephew of the bride and Mr. Matthew Rice, brother-in-law of the bride both of Winnsboro. Ring bearer was Mr. Alex Bass cousin of the groom, of Winnsboro. Jr. Usher/ Broom Bearer was the nephew of the bride Mr. Randell Cornelius Jr., of Winnsboro.

Wedding directress was Ms. Linda Robinson of Sumter. Hostesses for the ceremony and reception were Mrs. Kristie Robertson and Ms. Brenda Johnson, sisters of the bride both of Winnsboro. Mrs. Michelle Johnson of Salley, sister-in-law of the bride, Ms. Christina Kennedy cousin of the groom, Mrs. Lisa Johnson, sister-in-law of the bride, Ms. Tyawanna March, and Danita Young all of Winnsboro. The Host was Mr. Sammie Lee Bell Jr., brother-in-law of the bride of Winnsboro.

Ceremony music was provided by Mr. Moses Johnson brother of the bride, of Salley. Reception DJ was Mr. Otis Johnson Jr., brother of the bride, of Winnsboro. The wedding cake was provided by Mrs. Gladys Coleman of Chester. Photographer for both the ceremony and reception was Mr. Jerome P. Bryant of Columbia. Mr. Hulee Gratic served as videographer. Lisa’s Creations of Winnsboro provided the Décor, floral arrangements, and catering services for the ceremony and reception.

Mr. Michael Paul and Mrs. Shamieka Bernice Johnson Sims enjoyed their honeymoon in Savannah, Ga. and are residing in Winnsboro.
