Great Falls Teacher arrested for criminal sexual conduct
by Kevin Boozer
Staff writer

An investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division led to a Great Falls teacher’s arrest on Thursday, July 19.

Richard Jayson Jones, 47, of 427 Old Winnsboro Road, Great Falls was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor victim age 11-14.

Jones also was charged with performing a lewd act upon a child under age 16.

Investigators determined that the offenses did not occur on school property.

The SLED investigation took place at the request of the Great Falls Police Department.

Following his arrest, Jones was booked at the Chester County Detention Center. Bond was denied.

He awaits trial in September general sessions court.

The case will be prosecuted by the Sixth Circuit Solicitor’s office.

WINNSBORO — Meet Reecie, this week’s pet of the week. According to Fairfield County Adoption Center Director Janice Emerson, Reecie “is so sweet and has had a rough start, but has turned out to be one of the sweetest guys.”

Reecie needs a large fenced in yard and needs to be an inside/outside dog. He is neutered, current on all shots, and heartworm negative. This boy needs a chance to have a home and a family to love.

For more information, contact Janice Emerson at Fairfield County Adoption Center at 803-447-3602. She said that the adoption center is still in need of collars, leashes and canned cat and dog food.
