WINNSBORO — A former Fairfield County Detention Center officer faces charges of breach of trust with fraudulent intent.
Thom Berry, public information officer with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, said Takisha Yolanda Roseboro, 36, of 81 Neason Lane in Winnsboro, was arrested May 10.
From May 1, 2012 ,through October 2012, Roseboro was employed with the Fairfield County Detention Center and received inmates funds to be placed in trust as part of her job duties. The arrest warrant stated that Roseboro converted the funds for her own use with the intent to deprive the owners of the money.
Roseboro was charged with embezzling greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000. Since the case involved a corrections department officer, SLED handled the case.
After Roseboro was arrested, she was taken to the Fairfield County Detention Center. She has since been released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. According to the municipal court, her first appearance in court will be July 8.
Assistant County Administrator Davis Anderson stated that Roseboro had otherwise been a very good employee.
“She just made a bad decision,” he said. “And we wish it had never happened.”
Roseboro is no longer is employed by Fairfield County.
