Fairfield County Administrator faces disciplinary action

Staff Writers

WINNSBORO — Fairfield County Administrator Phil Hinely faced disciplinary action Wednesday night during a specially called meeting of Fairfield County Council. After a two-hour executive session, council voted to place Hinely on probation for six months and to give him a five percent pay deduction during the probationary period. These actions were in response to recent allegations that Hinely used county computers to view pornography in 2010. During the course of his six-month suspension, Hinely will be required to make a public apology for those actions.

County Council Chairman David Ferguson and Vice-chair Dwayne Perry and the county information technology director will review Hinely’s probation at the end of six months. Council also moved to make all county employees, contract or otherwise, subject to the code of conduct in the county employee handbook. FedupinFF2, why do you believe Hinely was set up?

Are you Hinely or do you work for him? You seem to protest a bit too much.

generaltso, why do you believe hinely wasn't set up?

Are you district 2 councilmember or you work for her. You seem to protest a bit to much also. By the way, do you know who sent the emails to hinely. That seems to be the question that know one will answer.

fedupinff2 - How do you think Hinley was set up? Do you think someone hacked his computer and e-mailed the smut that was sent out?

Appalling is not the word for it. County employees are fired for less. Yes we must clean house and get this "do nothing for the citizens" council off the board. Makes me wonder what he might have threatened council members with...what does he know?

I am appalled!! What are you people thinking? The liability associated with allowing this Prevert to remain in our county's top paid position!

I have personally reviewed the pictures identified in the SLED investigation. They are disgusting! You five men on council should be ashamed to support such a deranged individual! You two women should be screaming to the top of your lungs for his dismissal! These pictures are a slap in the face to every woman in this county!

Citizens and tax payer of Fairfield County, think about it the next time you go to pay your taxes or perform business in the county buildings. Is Mr. Hinely undressing you with his eyes?

PEOPLE OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY, WAKE UP! EVERYONE ON COUNTY COUNCIL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH REPRESENTATION THAT WILL MOVE THIS COUNTY FORWARD - NOT BACKWARDS!!! PURE CORRUPTION AT ITS FINEST!

EDITOR PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THIS POST!

Like it or not, this is a done deal. However, in the future, the Fairfield County Council members will be expected to show mercy to those who are not in authority, to those who commit less than this deplorable act that was done by this high ranking official. The citizens of Fairfield County will be watching your every move, County Council, and we will respond appropriately at the polls at election time.

The Coucil should be on probation and no pay not Mr. Hinely. Why didn't they address the incident when it was brought to their attention years back, they evidently condoned it until it hit the paper. I know for sure they knew because he told them and I was told that by a councilperson after it happened.

Isn't this typical..., close the door keep it quiet slap each other on the back . Then give Mr. HINELY a sabbatical paid but let's take away 5% of his salary ... WOW not with standing any future misconduct I'd say the good ole boy club is a live and well in Fairfield ... When will you folks wake up and demand responsibility for better leadership

Fire his butt and set him as an example
