This is the time of year flowers are blooming and plants are growing in the Hospital’s courtyard garden. Brenda Miller and Katherine Doty, members of the St. John’s Episcopal Green Team and Fairfield Master Gardener’ pull weeds and tend to plants to help them thrive.

Both have been involved in helping to enhance the courtyard garden, known as the Garden of Remembering, thanks to a Keep Fairfield Beautiful grant written by Doty. Water for the plants is provided by the rain barrel pictured provided by the grant.

Engraved bricks, which line the sidewalk, are available with a $50 donation to the FMH Foundation.

They make special gifts to honor or remember loved ones or friends,yourself, or a business.

Acknowledgments are sent as requested.

Occasions such as Mother’s Day, Fathers Day, graduation, grandchild’s birthday, retirement or death make lasting gifts.

St. John’s Green Team has “adopted” a section of the garden and invites other groups or individuals to “adopt’ a small section of the garden to provide on-gong tender care.

Donor cards to purchase engraved bricks are available in the lobby of the hospital, Insurance of Fairfield, 120 South Congress St., Fairfield County Museum, First Citizens Bank, Winnsboro and First Citizens Bank and local merchants in Ridgeway.

Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation is a 501 ( c ) 3 established to support the hospital to purchase needed equipment and technology.
