Flags around the county flew at half staff on Monday to honor Blackstock Fire Department Chief Brian Keith Hudson.
Hudson unexpectedly passed away at his home Thursday after attending a fireman’s meeting.
Monday afternoon, community members, family and friends paid their respects to the dedicated public servant by gathering at Parkway Baptist Church in Chester for a celebration of life service that included a full fireman’s honors.
On Sunday, the 41-year-old Hudson’s impact on the community was reflected as over 500 mourners attended his funeral home visitation.
Hudson served as deputy coroner with Chester County and was a firefighter with the City of Chester and the South Chester Fire Department. He also was an EMT-1 and chairman of the Fairfield County Fire Chief’s Association.
