WINNSBORO — Officials from Midlands Technical College, The School District of Fairfield County, Fairfield Central High School, SCANA Corporation and community leaders will cut the ribbon for the new Midlands Technical College/Fairfield Central Success Center at 2 p.m. Jan. 30.

The Success Center is an innovative, collaborative initiative of Midlands Technical College and Fairfield Central High School, in partnership with SCANA Corporation and The School District of Fairfield County. The Center places a college presence within the high school.

The Success Center offers college planning and preparation assistance, information on jobs of the future, in-school computerized college entrance testing (ACT COMPASS testing), and more.

The mission of the Success Center is to help students develop knowledge, competence and character necessary for contribution, leadership and success in a complex and increasingly global society through access to higher education and, through it, opportunity to improve their lives.

The Success Center is located at Fairfield Central High School and is staffed by an MTC program coordinator.
