WINNSBORO — Richard Winn Academy’s varsity boys squad ran into an athletic bunch of Knights in Tuesday night home action against Oakbrook Prep.

The visitors from Spartanburg applied smothering full court pressure. They also played an up tempo style that used the transition game to set up not only dunks and layups, but deadly accurate spot up three point shooting.

After opening the game on a 12-2 run, the Knights continued to push their lead. After one quarter they led 40-12 over Richard Winn. Though the boys played hard for RWA, this night belonged, well, to the Knights.

They defeated RWA 109-48. The loss drops the Eagles to 5-13 on the season.

Cameron Cooper turned in another solid game for RWA with 24 points, in a losing effort. The team next tips off against Greenwood Christian Friday night following varsity girls action at Richard Winn.

Middle school games start off the basketball action at 4 p.m. followed by the varsity doubleheader.
