SPARTANBURG — Lee Michael Chapman, 39, of Spartanburg, and formerly of Charleston, died on Monday, December 31, 2012. Born May 5, 1973, in Charleston, he was a graduate of The College of Charleston and employed in the computer technology field for Virginia Mental Health Department in Richmond, Va., and also with the family owned business, Lesco Restorations in Spartanburg. Lee enjoyed restoring BMW’s and spending time with his “children” - seven rescued dogs and two rescued cats.
He was is survived by his mother, Joan C. Sughrue of Sullivan’s Island; his father and stepmother, Toby G. and Carolyn W. Chapman of Spartanburg; brother, John D. Chapman of Greer; stepsisters, Bentley Ball of Charlotte, N.C., Judy Sughrue Smith of Norcross, Ga., and Carole Sughrue Carter of Irmo; stepbrothers, Kevin, John, Patrick, and Michael Sughrue; maternal grandmother, Ruth Ellenburg Rabon, formerly of Winnsboro. Lee was a wonderful uncle to his nephew, Owen Chapman; and step-nephew and nieces, Eliot, Annie, Calista, and Savannah Ball. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Gerald Milton and Mary Ligon Chapman of Winnsboro.
Visitation will be 9:00-10:15 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013, in the sanctuary at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m., at the church, conducted by the Pastor Andrew Dionne. Private burial will be in Winnsboro.
