WINNSBORO — This spring rainy weather has hindered the Richard Winn golf team’s efforts to get back in the swing of things. The players are getting out to the greens with Coach Kenny Atkerson as often as they can, though.

Atkerson knows what to expect from returning medalist in senior Taylor Ingle. Ingle plays often in the off season on a variety of courses, so his game keeps expanding. In fact, he has become a college prospect.

His other golfers, for the most part, are younger and are unknown commodities. What he does know is that his love of the game of golf will show through as the young men head into the season.

The Eagles have one home match at the Fairfield Country Club in early March. Due to a rainy winter and inclement weather in January, the schedule was still being fine tuned at press time, but Atkerson feels like his young Eagles will rise to the occasion and elevate their game this season.
