Class of 1962 holds reunion

The 1962 class of Winnsboro High School held their 50th anniversary reunion on Aug. 18.

There was a cookout at Fortune Springs Park at noon and an evening event at Honeysuckle Acres Bed and Breakfast.

A great time was reportedly had by all.

Forty-one classmates and five teachers attended. The classmates attending were Sam Arnette, Kay Bass Black, Glenda Bolen Clifton, Faye Branham, Keith Brewington, Anne Brown Rogers, Billy Castles, Carolyn Clyburn Brown, Joyce Coleman Wilson, Helen Collins, Vicki Dark Dodds, Pat Denton LeGrand, Paul Dove, Sam Edenfield, Buck Ellison, Jamie Frazier, Henry Gerald, Spencer Hewitt, Bobby Johnson, Susan Lyles Randall, Lucinda Martin Shirley, Ted McDonald, John McMaster, Jerome Mincey, Becky Motes Dougherty, Ted Nichols, Randy Perry Sears, Jeannie Ramsey Montgomery, Patty Rutland Cathcart, Patsy Shaw Caldwell, Brenda Stevenson Gause, Martha Stevenson Jones, John Taylor, Mary Jo Turner Byrd, Donald Walker, Robbie Walker Wilson, Larry Waters, Brenda Weed Snyder, Johnny Ray Wilson, Theron Wilson, and Tommy Griggs. Teachers attending were Rand Foster, Betty Lutz, Selwyn Turner, Martha Westbrook Conder, and Lola Dove.

The group also remembered classmates who are no longer with us.

They include Wayne Sumner, John Henry Lewis, Derrell Mixon, Steve Hilton, Doug Buchanan, Johnny Carter, Leslie Clark, Oscar Collins, Libby Denton, Reginald McPhatter, Tina Powers, Verna Reynolds Nichols, Walter Rutland, Barbara Smith, Marie Starnes, and Mary Barkley Turner.
