The Saving Fairfield Group, while in its infancy, is attracting more and more people from the community. The answer is shamefully simple. Everyone wants to feel they have earned the right to be respected, and be told the truth. In the political world, the truth is not necessarily the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It is a spin on words related to a question that requires an answer.
That answer sometimes has nothing to do with the question. Even more irritating, it rarely has anything to do with the truth. Truth be told, we all have our own version of the truth. Facts hard cold facts on the other hand are difficult to dispute. What I want, I believe everyone really wants. We want the facts and we want them presented in a way that leaves us in charge of making our own decisions.
In a packed meeting room last Monday night people gathered, from every district in the county, from every walk of life, every social, economic, cultural background, Ordinary citizens got together voiced their individual concerns, raised questions, made some terrific suggestions. Everyone whose hand went up had their chance to stand up give us their name and tell us what was on their mind.
At the end, though, we are still a little scattered in the process of which direction to take. We are now a little more focused and encouraged. The one thing we know for sure is many citizens are outraged with the lack of factual/truthful answers we get from our county council. We ask you to join us at the next public county council meeting. If you live here, you owe it to yourself and your children. At the very least, see what its all about for yourself at https://www.facebook.com/saving fairfield
