WINNSBORO — The Go Hard Riders group partnered with other community members and sponsors to make a sizable donation to the Fairfield County Food Bank last week.

The canned goods and non-perishable goods were collected by the Ridgeway motorcycle club as part of its emphasis on bettering the surrounding community.

“We have an awesome group,” said club member Linda Tucker. “Sponsor donations, member donations and revenue generated from our fundraisers enabled us to give this donation. We wanted to make a contribution that would impact the community during the holiday season.”

Tucker co-founded the non-profit club along with fellow Ridgeway native Willie Bobo Johnson in 2011.

The club has about 27 members: Linda Tucker, Willie Johnson, Wade Bell, Marvin Robertson, Earl Green, Clarence Pauling, Dennis Davis, James Coleman, Jordan Belton, Jimmy Walker, Ms. J, Keith Green, Lorenzo Stroman, Marlo Pauling, Michael’a Stevenson, Moses Taylor, Pat Oliver, Potese Hollingsworth, Quentin Ford, Quentin Seibles, Reginald Gibson, Richard Jackson, Rod Watkins, Sherman Gibson, Stephon Willingham, and Travis Boyd.

Walker said 10 sponsors donated food: Attorney Kenneth Anderson, Nelson’s Funeral Home LLC, David’s Florist, T & W Towing, IMO Omnitrition-Becky Boulware, Big Q Truckn, Woodard’s Logging, Russell’s Trucking, Mr. Let’s Get It Entertainment and Johnson Lawn Care.

The group’s largest fundraiser is coming up Nov. 29 with its second anniversary party at the Purity Lodge in Ridgeway. Though not at liberty yet to discuss specifics, Tucker said the group will do something special for the children of Fairfield County using the proceeds from the anniversary party.
