Art contest state winners named

Drashti Patel, a fourth-grader, was given an honorable mention for Drashti’s Fruit Bowl.

Robert Ramsey, a fourth-grader, won first place and $100 for Robert’s Grapes

Leslie Tapia, a sixth-graders, won second place for Leslie’s Lemons.

WINNSBORO — Kimi Daly, art teacher at Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science, recently announced that work by student artists was chosen to represent the state nutrition program.

Robert Ramsey, a fourth-grader, won first place and $100 for Robert’s Grapes while Leslie Tapia, a sixth-graders, won second place for Leslie’s Lemons. Drashti Patel, a fourth-grader, was given an honorable mention for Drashti’s Fruit Bowl.

Coordinator Dianne Gilley awarded Robert Ramsey and Leslie Lemons with their monetary checks and framed prints of their chalkings at awards day ceremonies held June 1.
