FAIRFIELD COUNTY — Isola Group are big fans of charitable giving and believers in giving back to the community.
Isola Laminate Systems located in Ridgeway donated five 20-inch box fans to the Believers and Achievers of Fairfield County.
“We work in Fairfield County, so we need to give back to the county,” said Dell Thomas, plant manager for Isola Laminate Systems.
The Believers and Achievers of Fairfield County are collecting fans for a Fan Fair, a charity drive with the specific purpose of collecting fans.
The collected fans will be distributed to the elderly.
“We’re working with the Sheriff’s Department, so we have a list,” said Darreyl Davis, president of Believers and Achievers of Fairfield County. “We’ll be giving them (the fans) to elderly people in the community.”
Davis is an Isola employee, and Thomas said he is aware of and proud of Davis’ endeavors involving the youth group.
“Darreyl is one of our valuable employees,” Thomas said. “We’re extremely proud of his work outside of Isola.”
The Fan Fair takes place July 25 at Autozone in Winnsboro. In addition to collecting fans and accepting donations, the Fan Fair will include a car wash and fish fry.
Davis said the five fans Believers and Achievers of Fairfield County received from Isola are the first donations to the Fan Fair, and he is eager to receive more fans.
