WINNSBORO — Elizabeth Martin, a tired educator and longtime member of Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation board, has been named an emeritus member. She recently served as board secretary.
“Mrs. Martin has been the consummate board member in every way. I am delighted to know she still plans to support us as an emeritus board member in ways only she can do,” said Mike Quinn, president of the FMH Foundation.
“I am so pleased to be honored with this designation. I want to help ensure that we have a strong community hospital,” she said. “After a recent fall in the Atlanta airport, I had need of the resources provided by FMH. They made it possible for me to return to my home and recover from my injury.”
Martin said she utilized FMH’s Caring Neighbors Home Health and certified health professionals went to her home to check on her and begin physical therapy.
“I am now able to receive outpatient physical therapy, close to home,” she said. “The hospital has everything I need for recovery. It has been a wonderful firsthand experience with their services, from emergency services, X-rays, home health, to physical therapy.”
