COLUMBIA — A 2011 graduate of Newberry College has been appointed the new executive director of the S.C. Republican Party.
Matt Moore, chairman of the S.C. GOP, said he appointed Hope Walker as the state party’s new executive director, effective immediately.
Walker is the first female executive director in the S.C. Republican Party’s history.
“No one is more qualified than Hope Walker to lead our state party into the 2016 presidential election. Hope’s connections to our grassroots activists and elected officials are strong and we know she’ll do an incredible job,” said Moore.
Walker previously served as state director for Mike Huckabee for President (2015-2016), RNC/SCGOP State Director (2014), SCGOP Political Director (2013), and SCGOP Member Services Director (2011-2012).
Walker is originally from Irmo and is a 2011 graduate of Newberry College with a bachelor of arts degree in Political Science and a double minor in History and Spanish. She also was active as president of the Student Body.
Walker has experience in every area of the South Carolina Republican Party, ranging from campaigning and fundraising to event planning and constituent service.
