COLUMBIA – The Museum Roadshow: Winter Edition, one of the South Carolina State Museum’s most popular events, is back Jan. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the stories and value of their heirlooms and artifacts from experts in a variety of fields who will be onsite offering informal, verbal appraisals.
Experts will be available in the areas of fine art, silver, pottery, furniture, books, jewelry, textiles and dolls, as well as military artifacts.
“The Museum Roadshow is a great opportunity to see some amazing objects connected to our state,” said Paul Matheny, state museum curator of art. “As museum representatives, we cannot provide values so we work closely with these well respected appraisers to provide this service to the general public.”
Tickets are $25 for the first item ($20 for museum members), $35 for two items ($28 for members), $40 for three items ($32 for members) and $45 for four items ($36 for members). There is a limit of four items per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the museum or by calling 803-898-4999.
The Museum Road Show will take place at the State Museum, 301 Gervais St. in Columbia. Visit scmuseum.org, call 803-898-4999 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to buy advance tickets.
