WINNSBORO — The Winnsboro Department of Public Safety is looking for a man who shot at a vehicle at least three times last Saturday night, injuring a passenger in the vehicle.
Barbara Robinson, 41, was struck in the back with one of the shots. Police Chief Freddie Lorick said it is his understanding Robinson is in stable condition.
According to the police, an unknown man shot into a vehicle being driven by Otis Adams, 55, after Adams stopped to speak to an unidentified person.
A man shot at the vehicle with a .45-caliber weapon, with one of the bullets traveling through the trunk and into Robinson’s seat. It lodged in her stomach, Lorick said.
Lorick said the shooting is believed to be drug related.
“We’re still following up on that,” said Lorick. “The suspect said that the boyfriend (Adams) owed him $20.”
According to the police report, Adams then drove away.
“That’s when the shots were fired,” Lorick said. “We found out later it was a .45-caliber weapon.”
The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 24 and 26 with facial hair. Lorick said he had a beard but they didn’t know if it was a full beard.
