RIDGEWAY — Several community churches along with Purity Lodge #42 hosted the annual Community Harvest Festival on Oct. 31 at Purity Lodge in Ridgeway.

Major Charlene Herring kicked things off for the annual event. Activities included bouncy houses/slides, face painting, bingo, games, hay rides, game truck and a mini-concert featuring GMG school of music along with local talents.

Vendors included the Fairfield County Fire Department, Fairfield County Police Department, Fairfield County Behavioral Services, Fairfield County Voter Registration, Midlands Technical College, Project FIT (Families Improving Together), CL Seven Inc., blood pressure screenings and lots of nutritional information.

Popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy and other refreshments were available to everyone. A new feature this year included a pumpkin carving contest where teams from local churches carved a pumpkin with students.

Lebanon Presbyterian Church team won first place, Bethlehem Baptist Church grabbed second place and Macedonia Baptist was third. All three churches are located in Ridgeway.
