COLUMBIA — Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science young artists recently showcased their talents at the South Carolina State Fair. The winners were:

Sixth grader Genyya Johnson won Best in Show in photography.

Fifth-grader Sara Pullen was the second place winner in 2-D art.

Second-grader Akenzy Douglas was given a Merit Award.

Second-grader Zion Woodard was given a Merit Award.

Second-grader Alexia Hernandez was given a Merit Award.

Fifth-grader Briceson Edenfield was given a Merit Award.

Fifth-grader Adijah Tolbert was given a Merit Award.

Other students displaying art at the State Fair were Destiny Furtick, kindergarten; Jada Trapp and Chase Douglas, first grade; Shakeem Griffin, Joseph Gonzalez and Kamil Roberson, second grade; Saya Lyles and Meghan Ford, third grade; Adam Gonzalez, Alexus Burbage, Madisen Belton, Jaterria Russell and Jamie Robertson, fifth grade; and Leslie Tapia, Dorian Jackson and Marteyia Gadsen, sixth grade.
