BLAIR – Chantel Blocker of Blair was recently selected to participate in the 2015 Miss Jr. Teen pageant competition that will take place on Nov. 15.
Blocker, the daughter of the Rev. Vera Blocker and Bernard Blocker, attends Fairfield Central High School.
Blocker learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviewing in the local Columbia area. She submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by this year’s Columbia Pageant Coordinator.
Blocker will compete in the Miss Jr. Teen Division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies of ages 7 through 19 competing in modeling routines, which include Casual Wear and Formal Wear. She will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s judging panel.
If she wins the title of Miss Jr. Teen, she will represent Columbia and the surrounding communities at the National Competition in Orlando, Fla., where more than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented. Contestants enjoy an expense paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando.
Any business, organization, or private individual interested in becoming a sponsor for Blocker can contact the Miss Jr. Teen pageant coordinator at 1-877-403-6678 for more information.
