Through June 29

• The Fairfield County Ag and Art Farm Tour is held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors will see first-hand where their food comes from, watch artists in action and purchase their works, dance to the melodies of bluegrass and folk songs, and learn more about rural life. Fairfield farm locations will be announced soon.

June 8 and June 9

• The Pine Tree Playhouse holds open auditions from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pine Tree Playhouse, 230 S. Congress St. in Winnsboro, for A Talent Show. Auditions are open to all ages. Those auditioning should bring their own CD, instruments or any other material. Show dates are 7 p.m. June 12 and June 13. June 12

Freedom Line Dancers of VFW Post 8346 hosts a dance from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the VFW Post 8346, 74 Veteran Road in Ridgeway. The cost is $5 per person. Music will be provided by DJ Papa Charlie. The group is also sponsoring a food drive for the Fairfield Community Food Bank.

A Talent Show is presented at Pine Tree Playhouse, 230 S. Congress St. in Winnsboro, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5.

• The Town of Winnsboro presents Movies Under the Stars in downtown Winnsboro. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs on which to sit. Big Hero 6 starts at 8:45 p.m.

June 13

• The Lil Wood Scholarship Banquet is held at Fairfield County Recreation Center at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Arc of South Carolina hosts its annual fundraiser SpArc Fest, from noon to 8 p.m. at Magnolia Lodge in Ridgeway. Overnight camping is available. Admission is $10, cash only. The Arc of South Carolina advocates for the rights of citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities through support, education, and innovative programming.

Fairfield County Adoption Center holds its second Homecoming and Barbecue Cook Off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Events will include a rabies clinic, yard sale, barbecue cook off, raffle, water slide and bouncy house. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available.

• A flag retirement and spaghetti dinner is held at the VFW Post 8346, 74 Veteran Road in Ridgeway. Dinner costs $7.50. Children younger than 8 eat free. Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce will collect flags to be retired. Call Steely Crawford at 803-556-9358 for more information.

• The Procurement Department and Fairfield County Human Resource Department participate in the Career & Community Resource Fair at Midlands Technical College’s Winnsboro campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

June 22- June 26

• The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office hosts the 10th annual Kids Day Camp for children between the ages of 8 and 13 who need positive reinforcement and need to build a better relationship with law enforcement. Only 80 applicants will be accepted.The camp is free, begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. Registration is due May 29. Lunch, an afternoon snack and drinks are provided. June 25

Ag + Art Tour will kickoff with Jazz and barbecue on the Terrace Under the Oaks at Mission Ridge Retreat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

June 27 -June 28

• Six Fairfield County locations are part of the Ag + Art Tour. Special activities in Fairfield County include Raised-Bed Garden Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Congaree Mills grinding grits at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, and an Ice Cream Social at 3 p.m. Sunday. Tour sites in Fairfield County include Celtic Lane Farm, Ee-oh-lay Farm, Elder Farms, Fairfield County Farmers Market, The She Garden at the Painted Picket and Royal Greens. July 10

• The Town of Winnsboro presents Movies Under the Stars in downtown Winnsboro. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs on which to sit. Earth to Echo starts at 8:45 p.m.

Ongoing Events

Midlands Fatherhood Coalition invites all interested custodial/non-custodial fathers to attend orientation for enrollment into their program every Monday at 10 a.m. They assist with child support, visitation, parenting and relationship issues/concerns. Little Griffins basketball camp is held from June 29 to July 2 for players ages 8 to 12 to work with the JV and varsity teams and coaching staff to help build proper fundamentals. Registration is $40 per player and is due June 4. Late registration is $50. Jenkinsville Water Company meets the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m.

Fairfield County Council meets the second and fourth Monday of every month at 6 p.m.

Tai Chi classes for adults are taught by Guo Guangwei of Midlands STEM Institute at First Baptist Church Gymnasium every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Suggested donation is $1.

Winnsboro Town Council meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:15 p.m.

Fairfield County School Board meets third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m.

Jenkinsville Town Council meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m.

Ridgeway Town Council meets second Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

• The Fairfield County Disabilities and Special Needs Board meets at noon the third Friday of each month at 408 W. Washington St. unless a special meeting is called.
